Are you asking yourself if you should join WSC or not? Here are some reasons why you should join.
You got a chance to meet different people with the common love of skiing. Many people make friendships in our ski club that last for years. Others find great experiences that have nothing to do with skiing.
Wichita Ski Club trips are a bargain and provide our members Ski and snowboard trips that include Flatland Ski Association racing.
Wichita Ski Club offers lots of other activities beside skiing. We are a year-round social club.
Wichita Ski Club allows you to be as involved as you want. You can just have fun or you can jump in and volunteer to help out.
That is what Wichita Ski Club is all about. Our members always have a good time no matter what they do.
Wichita Ski Club is a great place to network. You can find a job through the people you meet there or perhaps find a dentist, travel agent or car repairman through friends in the WSC.
Just because our name says 'ski' club doesn't mean that snowboarders or snowmobilers aren't welcome. They are. And the name, 'ski' club doesn't mean that it isn't really a social club either. We have social activities year-round and offer sports such as biking, hiking, golf, water skiing, jet skiing, sailing, snorkeling, scuba diving, canoeing, white water rafting and more!
Since 2004, Wichita Ski Club members are given lower prices than non-members to any WSC sponsored event of trip.
Do you still have questions about joining? Get them answered at Contact us.

Here are the current Bylaws . They are the rules governing how our club is structured and operates.
Once a month our Board of Officers have a meeting. These are the latest Meeting Minutes . We also include an archive of past years' minutes as available.
We have a list of all our Past Presidents . View the names of the club presidents spanning the last 5 decades.
These are the Trip Rules for all WSC sponsored trips.
To become a member of WSC, open our Membership Application . It's only $35 for single or $50 for family membership.
Our print newsletter is also available in a pdf file as The Flatlander eNewsletter . Members can enjoy it online as well as offline.
Our Wichita Ski Club Board of Directors has a board member only Yahoo Sports Group for sharing various club files and documentation called wichitaskiclub-board.
The Wichita Ski Club was formed in the late 1950's by a small group of snow skiers. As the membership grew, it became feasible to charter regular buses for the snow skiing excursions. It wasn't until the 1970-71 season that a sleeper bus was finally obtained.
From the small membership of about 30, the club has grown to over 300 members. Of the 30, we still retain a few of the original members. J.D. Frederick, Ileen Penna, Virgina Chapman, Lou Myers and Nancy Myers have become our "founding fathers and mothers".
In the early 60's the Club began to sponsor summer trips such as water skiing, canoe and white water rafting.
Our club first participated in the "Flatland Challenge Cup Race" in 1969. This event originated with the Kansas City Ski Club challenging other clubs from the "flatland" to a race in 1964. The race became an annual event and spawned the Flatland Ski Association. In 1974 the traveling trophy was won by the Wichita Ski Club. We lost the cup to the Cornhuskers of Lincoln, Nebraska in 1975...but we beat them all out and regained it in 1976.
We went on to win in 1977 and 1978 and retired the Challenge Cup.
We continued our winning streak and retired the Cup again in 1981. In 1980. the Wichita Ski Club won the traveling FSA Turkey Shoot Team Cup over all Flatland Clubs, large and small. In 1981, we won the traveling Caber Cup which is the FSA Masters Race Trophy.
In 1989 and 1990 we won the overall Flatlands Race Trophy which was quite an accomplishment considering we are a club of 300 people competing against clubs with over 2000 members. It just goes to show you that small doesn't matter when you have an elite group of snow skiers.
A large number of the club members participate in the NASTAR races. National Standard Race is a race for the recreational skier with a system of handicaps based on sex and age groups. Prizes are awarded in the form of gold. silver and bronze medals. The top men and women NASTAR racers in all 50 states are ranked in each age group based on their single best handicap of the season. The Wichita Ski Club has had many members who have qualified, year after year, in their respective Kansas State top ten brackets. Some have even made the national standings.
The club membership includes all kinds of skiers, unlimited by age or ability and from all walks of life. We pride ourselves in being a social and recreational club where a person meets new friends and becomes involved in club activities to any degree they desire.
The monthly Activity Calendar of the Wichita Ski Club always includes a business/social meeting, "Skier's Night Out" at a local tavern or restaurant, board of directors meeting and some special event or party. Some of special events are sailing, water skiing, campouts, horse back rides, bike rides, golf tournaments, miniature golf tournaments, laser tag, softball, volleyball, roller blading and dancing. Parties include are Superbowl, St. Patrick's Day, Ides of March, Chili Cook off, Pig Roast, Las Vegas Night, Halloween, Christmas, and New Years Eve. The Wichita Ski Club consists of an active group of people doing active things together.
